Sara Aldouby  Sculptress

Sara Aldouby was born in Hungary, and immigrated to Israel after World War II. She arrived in the United States in 1986. She studied sculpture in Israel, as well as in workshops in Carrara and Pietra Santa, Italy. She has exhibited her works in galleries around the world, as well as in the International Art Expo held annually in New York.

Her work has also appeared in "Decor" and "Design" magazines, as well as local television. A review in the New York Times following the Stamford Nature Museum Exhibition stated "in the category of exotic flora as opposed to fauna are the sea flowers of Sara Aldouby in onyx - but they look as if they are carved in precious jade." Her work covers the range of artistic expression from figurative through semi-abstract and abstract. A resident of Trumbull Connecticut, she also conducts classes in stonecarving, and terra cotta.

Her commissions include "Wings of Peace"- Bronze Casting (11 feet high) on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel, to the War Memorial Museum in Newport News, Virgina, USA. Among her other commissions are "Trees of Life" from stone and olive wood, as well as Holocaust Memorials in various locations including the Jewish Museum in Budapest, Hungary. She is the recipient of numerous prizes in sculpture including the Connecticut Classic Arts first prize. Her works are also found in private collections on three continents.
